9X Jhakaas Partners With Lux Jhakaas Heroine Winner, Prarthana Behere’s Fugay

India’s first Marathi channel, 9X Jhakaas, which brings to you the best of Marathi songs every day, has partnered with the upcoming film, Fugay, that stars Swwapnil Joshi, Subodh Bhave and Prarthana Behere in lead roles. The project has been directed by Swapna Waghmare Joshi and hits theatres this month.

This is indeed a nostalgic moment for the 9X team as she won 9X Jhakaas’s reality show ‘Lux Jhakaas Heroine’ three years ago and bagged Mitwaa alongside Swwapnil Joshi and Sonalee Kulkarni. Besides Mitwaa, Prarthana has starred in a number of films including Rita (2009), Love U...Mr. Kalakaar! (2011) and Coffee Ani Barach Kahi (2015).

Recently, Prarthana did her FIRST Facebook Live for Fugay with 9X Jhakaas where she spoke about the film, co-stars, her rapport with co-stars and on-set pranks among other things.

To talk about Fugay, the film revolves around two best friends and how an incident in Goa wrecks havoc in their life. While Swwapnil and Subodh will play the friends, directors of films like Force and Drishyam, Nishikant Kamat, will essay the role of the villain.

Fugay was initially supposed to release in December last year, but due to demonetization, the film got pushed to this month. Interestingly, this is the second valentine week release for Swwapnil and Prarthana. Their first film together, Mitwaa, too hit theatres in the same week. To talk of Subodh, after critically-acclaimed Balgandharva, Lokmanya and Katyar Kaljit Ghusali, the actor is all set to showcase an all-new avatar to audiences.

It is also being speculated that Fugay takes cue from Karan Johar’s Dostana and the audience might witness a budding ‘bromance’ between Swwapnil and Subodh. Many say that the film’s title Fu-‘gay’ is indicative of the fact that there might be references to a gay relationship.

Even on the film’s poster, we see the surnames of both actors exchanged. While Swwapnil becomes Swwapnil Bhave, Subodh is Subodh Joshi.

Intriguing, isn’t it? Can’t wait to see what the makers have in store for the viewers.
